Keynote talk at 27th Edition of World Heart Congress 2020 | Rome, Italy during June 15-16, 2020 by Dr. Marco Piciche , (San Bortolo Hospital Italy) on the Title " Acute aortic dissection: Etiopathogenesis, presentation, diagnosis, management, and outcome of surgical treatment " A brief about of Cardiac Surgery: For the heart to work well, blood must flow in only one direction. The heart’s valves make this possible. Healthy valves open and close in a precise way as the heart pumps blood. Each valve has a set of flaps called leaflets. Heart surgery is used to fix leaflets that don’t open as wide as they should. This can happen if they become thick or stiff or fuse together. As a result, not enough blood flows through the valve. Hybrid cardiac surgery combines cardiac surgery with an interventional (catheter-based) approach.  Coronary artery bypass grafting  (CABG) is the most common type of heart surgery.

Diabetes linked to Heart

The term "diabetic  heart disease " (DHD) means heart disease that occurs in people who have high content of carbohydrate in blood. In comparison with people who don't have diabetes, people who have diabetes; are at a higher risk of heart disease, have additional reasons of heart disease, may develop  heart disease  at a younger age, may have more severe heart diseases. In  Congenital Heart Disease , a waxy substance called plaque builds up inside the coronary arteries. These arteries supply our heart muscle with blood rich in oxygen. Plaque constitutes of fat, cholesterol, calcium, and various other substances found in the blood. When plaque happens in the arteries, the condition is called  atherosclerosis . This  Heart Congress  scientific program has been CME and CPD certified. For Every 1% increase in HbA1c, the risk of heart stroke, coronary Heart disease and death is increased by 10% to 30% More than 2 out of 3 people with diabetes die of heart disea

Heart strokes can drastically change the mind and body.

Heart stroke occur when a clot or burst artery prevents the flow of blood to the brain. This stoppage of blood flow results in results damage or death of brain cells Different parts of the brain and brain cells control many different functions of the body therefor a stroke can affect almost any part of the body. A person can take steps to prevent/lower the risk of Heart stroke however it is difficult to predict a stroke. Important factor is how long it took to get a proper treatment, further damage/death of brain cells may occur rapidly if the treatment is delayed.
